Dinosaur Habitat Coloring Page

Have you ever wondered about the habitat dinosaurs lived in?

Dinosaurs were super adaptive creatures. They lived on all continents across geologic time.

The habitats ranged from forests to steamy swamps, hot deserts, jungles and even zero-degree polar conditions.

These dinosaurs definitely had to take on some challenging terrains and conditions.

Jungle Dinosaurs

The Brachiosaurus and the Stegosaurus were two of the dinosaurs that were known to live in dense jungles. This is because jungles provided enough vegetation for these herbivores to snack on.

Swamp Living Dinosaurs

The Spinosaurus was one of the dinosaurs that used to swamp around in rivers and mangroves because that’s where the preserved fossils were found. These dinosaurs were experts in catching fish.

Desert Dinosaurs

One of the desert dinosaur species was the Velociraptor and Protoceratops (who was found in an ancient desert called the “Gobi”). Just imagine this guy flying around in scorching conditions. But they adapted to survive in these dry, arid, sandy environments and would have to use their speed to find limited food.

Diverse Habitats

The t-rex didn’t just live in one area, they even visited tropical areas, forest live swamps and some even on arid plains. They were joined by Acrocanthosaurus, Iguanodon, and Stegosaurus that also lived in quite different homes.

Polar Living Dinosaurs

These areas belonged to the Troodon, they were actually feathered dinosaurs that were able to adapt to freezing environments. Fossils also show their large eye sockets, because they needed to hunt at night.
